alan: iw as out of the room. It should, if you have a microphone

dk: I have a view sonic monitor - give me a second to locate.
alan: Also, in iVist, look under the Settings menu for "Audio Device Settings..."
alan: It has some pop-up menus that indicate where the sound source is coming from
dk: Do I then press the talk button to speak?
alan: press and hold the talk button while you speak
dk: maybe it is the microphone
dk: Do you think an Apple microphone will work on a ViewSonic?
alan: I am not sure. Does the monitor have some sort of connection to the microphone input in the back of the Mac?
dk: I will try that.

alan: Check the window for "guest list"

Tortuga: I had to install the camera software.  It has been sitting on my shelf waiting for me to get to it.

alan: well, you are backlit so you look kind of shadowy and mysterious

Tortuga: Yep.  I look that way to me too.
alan: Select "Guest List" from the WIndow menu
Tortuga: I have skylights in the rom.
alan: Then click on the minature video for me
alan: To make it bigger, click on the upper right box

alan: Is the sound quality tolerable?
Tortuga: Have you been able to hear me?

alan: I have not hear any audio yet
alan: what kind of computer do you have?
Tortuga: Oh.  I have tried.  Not that hot here today.  But we were  108 this week.  Hot for us.
Tortuga: No air conditioners--only evaporative.  Thank goodness for adobe walls.
Tortuga: I wonder why my sound is not coming through.
alan: Check the Settings menu for "Audio device settings" and see if it recognizes your input
