Message from the Director

Naomi O. Story, MCLI
The idea for The Labyrinth actually evolved from several Ocotillo group and retreat discussions in the last two years. Faculty and staff wanted to be better informed with substantive information about new developments and research related to technological applications in community college education. Especially now when resources are very limited, we must look at collaborative efforts and networking to use our funds through informed decision making and to serve our students better.

There is a wealth of knowledge and expertise about instructional innovation and technologies that can improve and enhance teaching and learning which our Maricopa faculty and staff possess. As part of its mission, the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction (MCLI) continues to serve as a conduit for information sharing across the district. The Labyrinth has been created to meet the needs of faculty and staff across the district who want to share knowledge and expertise about various instructional innovations and technologies that support teaching and learning.

In addition to her duties as instructional designer, Dr. Cindy Leshin will be the editor of The Labyrinth. Alan Levine will add to his responsibilites as instructional programmer by being the technical editor of this newsletter. We hope that you will be able to learn from and contribute to The Labyrinth.
