Tools and Techniques for Classroom Success

Are you looking for ways to get your students involved in learning? Do you want to learn the most effective techniques used in cooperative learning? Do you want to refine your skills? Are you curious about what cooperative learning "looks like?"

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions (or if you're too busy writing lecture material to read the above questions), then you owe it to yourself and your students to attend the Third Annual Cooperative Learning Conference - Tools and Techniques for Classroom Success. This year's conference will be held at Arizona State University in the Memorial Union on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22, 1996. The program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. both days, and will include continental breakfast and lunch.

This year's keynote speakers will be Spencer Kagan, who will be presenting on Thursday, and Karl Smith who will be featured on Friday [see related article]. In addition to the keynote speakers, there will be concurrent sessions during which conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in demonstrations of model lessons.

This event is jointly coordinated by the faculty development programs of MCCCD and ASU. For more information, please contact Donna Kardell (MCLI) 731-8302, Linda Sullivan (MCLI) 731-8305, Maureen Zimmerman (MCC) 461-7130, or Naomi Story (MCLI) 731-8293.
