Subject: Labyrinth-Forum time

I need a weekend extension...I hope it won't be too late. I have a lot to say about CHANGE, as you might imagine. Things are very busy here but I can have an article by Sunday (our Monday). My computer is giving me gray hairs.....since the phone lines are so static, I lose the connection every two to three minutes....it feels like living in the dark ages. I guess that is progress when you are complaining about the inconvenience of your computer and NOT about having to use one. God has a sense of humor....NOW I know all of the cool things I can do with my little computer and the national technology isn't quite ready to support it. I have a private computer tutor/coach/empathizer.....a new career- computer stress counselor!

I am writing two short articles...CHANGE for labyrinth and one for the home page on what it is like to live in Egypt after the Luxor "tragedy, massacre, debacle, sadness, incident!" For the time being, it has changed the lives of all Egyptians. The amazing thing is that on a daily basis life is so much safer here than in the U.S. So it is sort of like a cognitive disconnect to see high security, read about travel warnings and on a daily basis feel safe, not worrying about unusual sounds in the night and trusting most people to be kind and hospitable to you. The part that was not covered in the press was the Egyptian national mourning, grief and shock at the Luxor deaths.....Egyptians are naturally generous and hospitable people. Anyway more about that later....

I hope this short extension works...if Sunday (our Monday) is too late, let me know and I will pull an all-nighter!

Ma Salaama,

Jon Lea
